Ph.D. assistantships and Postdoc are available starting from Fall 2025 in Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department of University of Arkansas. The students will be expected to conduct independent and creative research within the fields of artifical intelligence, computer vision, robotics, automation for food processing and agricultural applications. Research topics include AI/IoT based smart poultry processing, robotic-based food manufacturing, and imaging-based food safety inspection. Students with backgrounds in mechanical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, agricultural/biological/food engineering are highly welcome to apply. Hands-on experience and skills are highly preferred, including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, CAD drawing, ROS, Python, C++, and Machine vision. Ph.D. applicants who have GRE writing score >4 are eligible to compete for doctoral fellowship (https://graduate-and-international.uark.edu/graduate/costs-and-funding/fellowships-scholarships/doctoral-fellowships.php). This will be additional support on the top of graduate assistantship offered by the professor.
